Well, not, goodbye exactly -- more like fare-thee-well. You see, with just days -- mere days! -- until an extremely important election I feel the need to spend all my free time (and then some!!!) working to get progressives elected up and down the ticket. After all, 2008 could and should be a huge sweep for Dems! That means, alas, no time for blogging.
Also, while I'm on topic, I have noticed a bit of a disturbing tendency on the part of a few Dems to worry, wring hands, kvetch about perceived problems on this or that campaign, doing all sorts of stuff except really and truly helping.
Instead of worrying, get working.
Instead of driving yourself crazy over the latest GOP attack ad, drive yourself all over to pick up absentee ballots.
Instead of hand wringing, shake hands with neighbors, friends, and co workers and convince them to vote for progressives.
Instead of wondering why more people aren't pitching in, wander your precinct to drum up more volunteers.
Instead of trying to contribute strategic ideas, of which all campaigns have more than enough, contribute money, of which all campaigns don't have enough.
Instead of emailing like minded friends, email folks that are undecided and convince them to vote Dem.
Instead of sitting around coffee complaining about the election, host a coffee at your house to talk about ways folks can help win this election.
Instead of posting on a blog, write post cards to Indies asking them to support your candidates.
That's what I'll be doing these next few weeks -- working my heart out, with every spare minute I have. Join me, won't you?
